What you are seeing here
These are our own cats and kittens, photographed in our house in Vancouver, Washington over several years. The parents are on the kings and queens page and the kittens looking for homes are here. You will notice the same rugs, the same windows and the same furniture in the background, because these cats were raised in the rooms we live in. You will also notice that not every photo is perfect. Kittens do not hold still, and we would rather show you a real photograph than a staged one.
What good Persian conformation looks like
- Head. Round and broad, with a domed forehead and full cheeks.
- Eyes. Large, round and set wide apart, clear and not weeping heavily.
- Ears. Small, rounded at the tip and set low on the head.
- Body. Cobby and heavy boned, with short thick legs rather than a long slender frame.
- Coat. Dense and standing off the body rather than lying flat, with an obvious ruff around the neck on a longhair.
The full written standards are published by the CFA and TICA. Either one takes about ten minutes to read and is worth doing before you visit a cattery.
