Taking your kitten home is always a fun and exciting time. However, for your new kitten, it might be a little stressful. Leaving their littermates and familiar surroundings to go to a new home can be stressful. To best help them, it’s recommended to put them into a smaller room for the first couple of days after moving to let them familiarize themselves with a new area. This is especially important if there are small children or other dogs & cats in the house. After 4-7 days the kitten (and other pets) should be used to each others smells and the new kitten will be ready to explore the rest of your home! When you open the door to let the kitten venture out it should be without incident but watch them just in case.
Food:
We recommend Life’s Abundance All Life Stage Cat Food for dry food and Purinas Fancy Feast for wet food. The kittens are already transitioned to this food and should be able to eat it right away.
Cat Litter:
We use Scoop Away’s Complete Performance and it works great!
Probiotics:
We recommend Purina’s Forti Flora about 4-7 times a week to help all around with the kittens digestive and immune system.
Eye Wash:
Sometimes the kitten will need to have their eyes cleaned out, we use Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial eye wash to clean their eyes
Water:
While a normal water bowl should be fine, we use a water fountain and the cats & kittens love to drink from it.
